FORMER Malacañang Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque made this statement after the Philippine National Police (PNP) reduced 75 police personnel from Vice President Sara Duterte‘s security detail and her subsequent open letter to the PNP Chief.
According to Roque, the public may perceive that reducing the VP’s security personnel puts her life at risk.
“People will think that’s why they removed the police, to have a chance to kill VP Sara. That’s on him. I am on the record saying that if something happens to VP Sara, Marbil is the suspect,” said Atty. Harry Roque, Former Malacañang Spokesperson.
It has been discovered that the security personnel removed from VP Sara have long been providing security for the vice president.
Some of them have been part of her security team since her time as mayor of Davao.
According to Roque, it is clear that there is a plan against VP Sara.
“When you don’t trust those who provide security, you have no security at all. It’s not just about having people assigned to watch over you; more importantly, it’s about trusting those who guard you. It’s clear that there may be a plan against VP Sara and against all of us who had our security removed. That’s why for us, the first suspects are those who removed our security personnel. It’s obvious,” said Roque.
Roque also commented on the PNP’s visit to the vice president’s residence to conduct “casing”, as mentioned in her open letter.
He said that part of their plan against VP Sara could involve falsely accusing her of crimes.
“Why is our Vice President considering an adversary when she is the second-highest official? Her rival Leni, during Duterte’s time, was never seen as a threat to the point of casing her residence. Now, it’s clear they may have plans to accuse VP Sara of crimes in the future and eventually arrest her,” said Roque.
“There’s also talk about her being implicated by the terrorist CPP-NPA in the pending case against former President Duterte at the ICC. With the recent revelation of casing her house, it really seems there’s an intention to imprison the Duterte family through this political harassment,” he added.
Meanwhile, Marbil avoided media inquiries regarding the Vice President’s open letter and advised consistently telling the truth to avoid complicating matters.
“He is afraid that if he speaks up, VP Sara might lash out at him,” stated Roque.
Marbil was once reprimanded by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) for being rude when the PNP Chief said that Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy was not a pastor.
“Not only is that disrespectful, it’s a significant violation of human rights. The right to have faith and recognize a Pastor is part of the right to freedom of religion. And that is sad because the police should be the ones enforcing the law and ensuring that human rights are respected. For example, Marbil’s statement about PACQ not being a Pastor is a clear violation of the right to freedom of religion,” exclaimed Roque.
