Bong Go’s Malasakit Team attends Super Health Center inauguration in Rizal, Nueva Ecija

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go, an adopted son of Nueva Ecija, continues his dedication to improving access to healthcare services as his Malasakit Team joined the inauguration of a Super Health Center in Rizal, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday, October 16.

His Malasakit Team, together with Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire and in coordination with Mayor Trina Andres, ensured that his message of commitment to public service reached the residents of the town.

Go, who has been instrumental in securing funding for the construction of Super Health Centers nationwide, expressed his gratitude to the people of Rizal and reiterated his commitment to bringing quality healthcare services closer to Filipinos, especially those in remote areas.

“Mga kababayan ko sa Nueva Ecija, bilang adopted son ng inyong probinsya, sinisigurado ko pong hindi kayo mapag-iiwanan pagdating sa serbisyong medikal. Ang Super Health Center na ito ay bahagi ng ating pagsusumikap na mapalapit ang mga kinakailangang serbisyo sa inyo,” said Go in a message.

The newly inaugurated Super Health Center will provide essential services, including outpatient care, diagnostics such as x-rays and ultrasound, birthing facilities, and pharmacy services. It will also feature telemedicine capabilities, allowing residents to access specialized consultations remotely.

During the event, Go’s Malasakit Team also distributed assistance to some health workers in attendance, such as grocery packs, snacks, shirts, and basketballs.

Through the concerted efforts of Go, fellow lawmakers, the DOH, led by Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa, and local government units, adequate funding was allocated for establishing more than 700 Super Health Centers nationwide. In Nueva Ecija, a total of nine Super Health Centers are funded.

As chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, Go also encouraged Novo Ecijanos to make use of the Malasakit Centers in the province.

“Nandito po ang Malasakit Centers para sa inyo. Lapitan niyo lang po ang Malasakit Center, tutulungan kayong pababain ang inyong hospital billing.”

Go, who is the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act, has been instrumental in establishing 166 Malasakit Centers nationwide, three of which are at Talavera General Hospital in Talavera, Eduardo L. Joson Memorial Hospital and Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center (DPJGMRMC), both in Cabanatuan City.

These centers streamline assistance from government agencies such as the DOH, Department of Social Welfare and Development, PhilHealth, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in times of medical need.

“Patuloy po akong magseserbisyo sa inyo. Ang bawat maliit na tulong na naibibigay natin sa kapwa ay mahalaga. Tandaan po natin na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo sa Diyos,” Mr. Malasakit shared in his concluding message.
