Carving masters of Quanzhou City in China show off their carving expertise

It is undeniable that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee recognized Quanzhou as a World Heritage Site.

On July 25, 2021, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee recognized Quanzhou as a World Heritage Site.

“All kinds of Quanzhou masters, they dedicated long long time to make these skills, the craftmanship. They are dated back to like Song and Yuan Dynasties, like thousands of years. They passed down from generation to generation,” Wendy Wu, Anchor, Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road International Communication Center said.

Quanzhou was one of the largest and busiest ports in the world during the Song and Yuan Dynasties.

The city became an important exchange hub for different civilizations, religions and products.

Their night market still features a variety of local Quanzhou products.

Traditional flower headdresses worn by women of Xunpu Village, wood carvings, lanterns, and various souvenirs can be purchased.

You can also enjoy the rich Minnan culture in Quanzhou every night from singing and playing instruments to traditional puppet shows.

Quanzhou City in China, safe for tourists even at night

Meanwhile, Quanzhou boasts a very low crime rate in the city.

Because of this, tourists can enjoy walking around the city every night more safely.

 “It’s very very safe here. Even you’re out like at 3am, in the morning, it’s okay. Safe to go everywhere the whole Quanzhou,” according to Wendy Wu.
