Cebu Pacific signs purchase agreement for up to 152 new aircraft to serve more passengers

THE agreement with Airbus covers firm orders for up to 102 A321neo aircraft, plus purchase rights for 50 A320neo Family aircraft.

Cebu Pacific stated that the acquisition has a minimum commitment of 70 aircraft.

CEB is also proud to announce that this acquisition is the largest in Philippine aviation history, valued at approximately USD $24 billion (PHP 1.4 trillion) based on the list prices for all 152 aircraft.

“The selection of Airbus and Pratt & Whitney underscores our focus on operational efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest standards of service while significantly reducing our carbon footprint,” said Michael Szucs, Chief Executive Officer, CEB.

Airbus stated that the purchase agreement is a testament to the airline’s confidence in its products and a positive sign for the recovery of the aviation industry.

“We just continue to provide that we’ve been provided to the airline for the last 20 years,” said Benoit De Saint-Exupery – Airbus EVP Sales of Commercial Aircraft business.

According to Pratt & Whitney, this latest order highlights the growing opportunities for aviation in the Philippines and the broader Asia Pacific region.

The GTF engine will enable Cebu Pacific to continue to expand the number of routes it offers to passengers, while delivering industry-leading fuel efficiency and sustainability benefits,” said Rick Deurloo – President of Commercial Engines, Pratt & Whitney.

Cebu Pacific operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, consisting of nine Airbus A330s, 40 Airbus A320s, 23 Airbus A321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft, which allows it to maintain the widest network in the Philippines.
