THE Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) and the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Government have inaugurated four radio repeaters yesterday, 19 June 2024.
CGDSWM and BARMM Commander, CG Commodore Marco Antonio Gines, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Governor Dulce Ann Hofer, and REACT-12A Chairperson, Engr. Emmanuel Sucgang, graced the real-time testing on board BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) while traversing Sibuguey Bay, Dumaquilas Bay, and Moro Gulf.
CG Commodore Gines said this would amplify signals and improve the reliability of communication networks for all emergencies, disaster response, maritime search and rescue, law enforcement, military operations in the province.
For her part, Governor Hofer emphasized that the system would enhance coastal security and reduce maritime risks within their area of responsibility.
