Community unity ensures peaceful and orderly BSKE elections in Brgy. Tamayong

OVERALL, the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in Brgy. Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City, were peaceful and orderly.

Even before the sun had risen earlier today, Tamayong Elementary School was already bustling with energy, as voters eagerly lined up and searched for their respective polling precincts.

“I arrived here early to vote promptly. It’s an hour’s walk since there are no early tricycle trips, so I opted for an early start,” according to Roseta Banosong, Residente, Brgy. Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City.

“It wasn’t even 10 o’clock in the morning, and the queues had already disappeared, with only a few people left casting their votes,” Mercy Bersales, DESO stated.

The experience was positive for the youth, especially those who participated in voting for the first time, just like Crisilyn, a young Tausug.

“As a first-time voter, the process was really smooth. I went to the helpdesk, and it didn’t take me more than 10 minutes since there were no long lines,” Crisilyn Espidillon, SK Voter said.

Meanwhile, the SK voters expect that those they elected will fulfill their promises and platforms.

“Today is my first time voting. I expect that they will fulfill their platforms here in Brgy. Tamayong. As a youth, I want to see greater engagement among the youth in Brgy. Tamayong. This way, the focus of the youth here can be diverted towards their betterment, not what’s harmful,” Angelique Canada, SK Voter, Brgy. Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City said.

At two o’clock in the afternoon, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ also cast his vote here at Tamayong Elementary School for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election.

Here in this barangay at the foothills of the Philippines’ highest peak, Mount Apo, Pastor Apollo was born and raised along with the Ovu Manovu and other tribes in the area.

“Well, we are happy because I have not yet seen a peaceful barangay election but here, it was really so peaceful. Then people also finished early. Then to those who will win, may your service spring from the heart because this is what our country needs today,” according to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

“Yes, especially here in Brgy. Tamayong because this is my birthplace– physical birthplace and spiritual birthplace, and the Covenant Moment and Paradise Garden of Eden Restored so we are very blessed because He chose Brgy. Tamayong for the Appointed Son to be here, and it’s been successful, progressive, and we will help in the development of our own barangay like what we are doing now,” Pastor Apollo added.
