DAVAO City extends support to neighboring towns and municipalities, where it offers Welfare Goods through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
In addition, a special group of social workers and trained personnel was sent to the municipality of Maco, Davao de Oro, composed of 14 individuals to offer psychological first-aid and psychosocial support for families affected by the recent pandemic.
This initiative aims to help Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) cope with a variety of challenges, including survival issues, loss, insecurity, and social and emotional concerns.
Children affected are also cared for by participating in activities, helping to enhance their recovery process, while adults also participate in group sessions to regain their hope.
The distribution of school kits and hygiene kits also helped the affected individuals.
Relief operations will continue in neighboring municipalities until March 2.
