DBM to release P27-B overdue COVID allowance for healthcare workers

THE healthcare workers have set to receive the remaining unpaid Health Emergency Allowance (HEA) claims.

This is after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released this Friday the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) and Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) of over P27-B for the validated beneficiaries submitted by the Department of Health (DOH).

According to DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, there are more than 5-M beneficiaries for HEA claims.

While there are over 4-K beneficiaries of the COVID-10 Sickness and Death Compensation (SDC) claims.

Pangandaman said the DOH list has been validated, and that the DBM is working with the DOH to facilitate the distribution.

The budget chief also mentioned that since the amount is quite large, the DOH will distribute the funds to their regional offices and they will be the ones to disburse it.

Pangandaman hopes that the remaining emergency allowance will be properly distributed to the beneficiaries and distribute it as soon as possible.

The DOH first shared that Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) assigned to licensed health facilities or health-related establishments involved in the response to COVID-19 are eligible for HEA.

Once the DBM downloads the P27-B SARO from the DOH, it will immediately be sub-allotted to the respective Centers for Health Development (CHD).

This will facilitate the disbursement of HEA to local government units (LGUs) and Private Health Facilities (PHF) under their jurisdiction.
