A successful cleanup activity was conducted by DENR – Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO) West along Sto. Niño Creek, assisted by the Estero Rangers from Barangay 145 and 190, and the barangay officials and staff.
The aim of the activity is to maintain the cleanliness and free flow of water in the creek to prevent flooding. Analyn I led it. Hot, River Protection Officer II, as part of the office’s ongoing advocacy for the protection of waterways.
The group collected about 100 sacks of solid waste such as plastic, styrofoam, bottles, and other waste that could cause blockage in esteros.
MEO-West continues to support such initiatives as a step towards a safe, clean, and orderly environment. Through cooperation and proper knowledge, community participation in environmental conservation will be further strengthened, especially in waterways.
