THE Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista immediately inspected on Thursday the Metro Manila Subway Project during the aftermath of the super typhoon Carina.
Sec. Bautista meticulously inspected the stations, including the Camp Aguinaldo Subway station where he went 27 meters below ground to see the ‘flood resiliency’ of the construction.
During the inspection, the secretary saw no signs of any issue impacting the construction progress in the station.
Aside from the Camp Aguinaldo Subway station, he also visited the East Valenzuela Subway depot, the North Avenue Subway station, and Shaw Boulevard Subway station.
The secretary commended the stations’ designed resilience from flooding which plays a crucial role during heavy rainfalls.
