Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan was joined by the Director of Public-Private Partnership Services, Engr. Pelita V. Galvez, and the Project Director of Bridges Management Cluster, Unified Project Management Office, Engr. Rodrigo I. Delos Reyes to showcase big ticket projects in the region. RD Malaluan reported that in NCR alone, DPWH widened, and rehabilitated 1,386.14 lane kilometers of national roads; 17,053.06 linear meters of national bridges; 661 flood control, and drainage projects; 237 public buildings; and 461 school buildings.
Among the completed projects, 34 are part of the EDSA rehabilitation program, eight retrofitted projects under “The Big One” preparation, 48 are military infrastructures, and seven projects are part of the Manila Bay rehabilitation program. The agency ensures that all necessary plans and information in the regional infrastructure development reaches the public, to demonstrate a government that takes action, and provides opportunities for information exchange.
The event showed the Department’s continued commitment to elevate infrastructure progress in NCR, towards promoting the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance.
