TOKYO electric power company (TEPCO) said that a high-level of radiation was detected in an employee of the Fukushima Power Plant. Reports say the employee removed a full-face mask after finishing work.
According to TEPCO, the employee was not experiencing any adverse health effects.
A full-body scan also showed no internal contamination.
This incident marks the second in three months after four workers were splashed with radioactive water in October.
To recall, in march 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant was destroyed following a devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake that generated powerful tsunami waves that caused the meltdown of three of its nuclear reactors— the worst incident since Chornobyl.
The Fukushima Plant remained useless because of the incident.
And this year, the Japanese government decided to discharge millions of tonnes of nuclear-contaminated water into the sea.
This move, however, was met with opposition from many countries, including China, North Korea, The Solomon Islands, among others.
A full analysis of the Fukushima Power Plant employee will be released next month.
