INDONESIAN President-Elect Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at the Kremlin.
Prabowo arrived in Moscow on Tuesday night and was greeted by the Indonesian Ambassador to Russia, Antonio Morato tavares, along with other Indonesian and Russian officials.
According to Indonesia’s Ambassador to Russia, the meeting marks an important milestone in strengthening diplomatic ties between both countries.
The Kremlin, on the other hand, said Russia and Indonesia have many potential projects for cooperation in the economy, trade, and politics.
Prabowo’s visit to Moscow concludes his European tour following his stops in Serbia, Turkiye, and France.
To recall, last year, Prabowo pushed a peace proposal that would have left Russia occupying parts of Ukraine.
However, last month, the Indonesian president-elect criticized Russia’s absence from a summit aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
