JAPANESE authorities arrested four Vietnamese nationals for stealing thousands of clothing items from a popular retail brand that lasted for years.
The hunt for the suspects behind the repeated shoplifting in Japan was finally caught by local authorities.
Four Vietnamese people have been arrested for stealing items at Japanese casual wear designer Uniqlo and other clothing shops in Japan.
The culprits are believed to have stolen more than 5,200 items, including sweaters and down jackets.
The stolen items amounted to an estimated 20 million yen or over 135,000 US dollars.
The four committed the act during multiple visits to Japan between December 2018 and October 2023.
Investigative sources said that despite the existence of Uniqlo shops in Vietnam, the suspects still traveled to Japan because there are many self-checkouts in the country.
