MANILA — Japan Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has officially arrived in the Philippines for a two-day state visit scheduled from April 29 to April 30, 2025.
At 12:35 PM on Monday, Prime Minister Ishiba touched down at Balagbag, where he was welcomed by key Philippine officials. The Japan Air Force flight carrying the prime minister landed amidst high expectations for this significant diplomatic visit.
Among the dignitaries present to greet Prime Minister Ishiba were Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene Garcia-Albano, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, and other senior officials from the Philippine government.
This official visit marks a continuation of the close ties between Japan and the Philippines and is expected to further deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as economic development, security, and cultural exchange.
