Japan’s Auto Show returns with flying cars, moon vehicles

THE Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo officially opened on Thursday, one of the premier auto exhibitions in the world.

The Biennial Expo, formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show, has returned, and it has expanded even further, with over 475 enterprises participating, contributing to the growth of the Japan’s auto industry.

Many traditional automakers are showcasing their latest crossover designs and models for applications like aviation.

Subaru also presented a concept for a flying car, while Toyota showed a vehicle for moon travel.

For passenger cars, Japanese automakers strived to keep up with the global trend of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).

As a former leader in the global electric vehicle market, Nissan unveiled five BEV concepts, one of which featured solid-state batteries.

Honda also launched their latest BEV model created in collaboration with SONY.

The expansion of automakers’ knowledge in the country through innovative ways is aimed at enriching the functionality of cars and improving passenger experiences.

For instance, a new driverless taxi model was introduced, with front and rear seats facing each other to allow passengers to have comfortable conversations.

The Japan Mobility Show will run until November 5.
