Kuwait acquires Eurofighter typhoon jets to boost combat readiness

THE Kuwaiti Air Force expanded its fleet of advanced fighter jets after it received four more Eurofighter Typhoons this week.

The country’s air force now owns 13 out of the 28 Eurofighter jets it has ordered. Deliveries started in 2021.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is considered one of the world’s most advanced fourth-generation combat aircraft.

It is equipped with electronic warfare capabilities, an electronically fired revolver cannon, and could transport various types of missiles.

The aircraft can reach speeds exceeding Mach 1, which means it has a supersonic speed that manages to outrun the sound waves it produces and create a sonic boom.

The acquisition of the fighter jets is part of a collaboration between Kuwait and Italy, in which their air forces train together.
