KUWAIT is keen on protecting its moral, religious, and family values, which are part of its identity as a nation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter recently to the Ministry of Education and other concerned parties in regard to the protection of the local and Arab identity.
The letter affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to fighting foreign ideologies that may lead to the destruction of marriage and family values.
The ministry also stressed solidarity and standing up against any pressures targeting Arab and Islamic societies in their identity and belief.
The letter also promoted respect for the sovereignty and privacy of states as well as the principles of cultural diversity.
Moreover, the government emphasized its desire to provide an easier life for children, the elderly, and people with special needs by enhancing children’s protection laws and providing them with proper education, job opportunities as well as training for disabled people.
Earlier this week, Kuwait held its third general elections in two years in the hope to end years of political stalemate, which hampered social and economic reforms in the Gulf State.
