Legal counsel points out ‘clear evidence’ of guilty judgment by Risa Hontiveros vs Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy—Legal Counsel

PROOF of bias on the part of Senator Risa Hontiveros has emerged in the case involving Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

Recently, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy’s camp appealed to the Supreme Court to contest the Senate’s contempt order against him.

Legal counsel clarifies Pastor ACQ’s refusal to attend Hontiveros’s Senate probe

According to his camp, there was no reason for Pastor Apollo to attend Senator Risa Hontiveros’s committee hearing due to the destructive statements made by its fake witnesses.

It’s evident from the words of Hontiveros in her Senate Resolution No. 884 that she has already judged Pastor Apollo guilty.

The resolution unequivocally states that Pastor Apollo committed no crime here in the Philippines.

And the crimes being referenced are ongoing.

Atty. Elvis Balayan, one of Pastor Apollo’s legal counsels, explained that his client’s absence from the Senate summons is not an insult.

Because if he were to appear at the hearings, it would surely only bring embarrassment to the esteemed Pastor.

“It’s like in boxing, why would you fight if your hands are tied and you know the referee and judges have already declared you’ll lose by the first round?” said Attorney Elvis Balayan, Legal Counsel for Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

Atty. Balayan also responded to Hontiveros’s query.

Pastor Apollo’s refusal to attend Hontiveros’s Senate probe clarified

“Senator Hontiveros often mentions that there are Senators, high-ranking… presidents, church officers who go to the Senate Committee when they are subpoenaed,” Atty. Balayan stressed.

“It’s difficult to equate the incidents where high-status individuals in our society go to the Senate because they are respected. The situation is different for Pastor. The pastor has already been judged. If we were to judge bishops as carjackers, as individuals who have committed wrongdoing against the government… If generals went there and we said they committed heinous crimes… Do you think their lawyers would advise them to go there? I don’t think so,” Balayan said.
