Man Fatally Shot from Behind at Jeepney Terminal in Antipolo City

Antipolo City, Rizal – A man was shot from behind and killed in an apparent targeted attack at a modern jeepney terminal in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Antipolo, in the early hours of April 24.

CCTV footage captured the chilling moment a helmeted suspect calmly walked through the terminal before stopping behind the victim, who was seated and using his cellphone. After appearing to confirm his target, the assailant drew a firearm and shot the man at close range in the back of the head.

The victim, identified as Michael Yap, was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect quickly fled the scene, boarding a motorcycle with an accomplice who had been waiting nearby—both of whom were also caught on CCTV.

Antipolo police have not yet release an official statement regarding the incident. Authorities say a thorough investigation is underway, including a review of surveillance footage and gathering of witness testimonies.

The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
