More sick, wounded patients arrive from Gaza to UAE

THE UAE welcomed a group of 28 patients – accompanied by 35 family members – as they flew to the country from Gaza through Egypt.

The group landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport and was transported to local hospitals.

They were the eighth batch of Gazans to arrive in the UAE to undergo medical treatment as part of a humanitarian initiative designed to support Palestinians affected by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

The UAE’s relief campaign aims to provide treatment for 1,000 injured Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients. The initiative started in November.

The UAE has announced $20 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza and has launched relief campaigns such as the Compassion for Gaza and the Gallant Knight 3 campaign.

Under the Gallant Knight 3 campaign, the UAE helps Gaza residents pump 600,000 gallons of clean water every day which will cover the needs of about 300,000 people.

The UAE was also one of the four Arab countries that have pledged to help with the reconstruction of Gaza after the war.
