THE heads of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) together with the chiefs of Israel’s famous spy agency visited Qatar to discuss the possible release of hostages taken captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
CIA Director William Burns and Mossad Director David Barnea held talks with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani earlier this week to discuss a possible deal for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Prior to the meeting with the Sheikh Al Thani, Qatari mediators met with Hamas terrorists to discuss the parameters of a potential deal.
The discussion involved talks to possibly stop Israel’s military campaign against Hamas terrorists, however, the negotiations reportedly ended without a clear resolution.
On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear that there will be no ceasefire without the return of hostages.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office have yet to respond to the recent meeting in Qatar with Israel’s spy agency Mossad and the CIA heads.
