For this year, the newest NATO members Sweden and Finland have joined the exercises.

Under Steadfast Defender, NATO troops will take part in a series of 11 exercises that will run for more than six months, from the shores of the Mediterranean to the Arctic.

Part of the exercises are taking place in Sweden since the start of the month, where around 800 paratroopers from the United States, Spain, Hungary, and Italy are training together in the Nordic territory.
