New OFW public service TV program on SMNI to start on August 26

DUE to its commitment to public service for Filipinos, another TV program for OFWs is expected on SMNI this coming August.

The delivery of public service continues at SMNI under the leadership of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

This August 26, Saturday, from five o’clock to six in the evening, expect the launching of “OFW Ikaw ang Bida” with One Filipinos Worldwide or OFW Partylist Representative Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino.

Last Thursday, June 29, Magsino signed a contract with SMNI.

On the same day, Magsino appeared on SMNI Exclusive with Pastor Apollo, where they discussed various issues concerning Filipino workers overseas.

Magsino expressed gratitude to Pastor Apollo for the opportunity given to her.

“OFW Ikaw ang Bida, this is our gift to you from SMNI. I am grateful because I know we will be partners in creating and helping in nation-building, which is also the goal of our SMNI and our esteemed Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. Because who would refuse to be part of nation-building?” Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino, OFW Party-list said.

Meanwhile, one of the hot topics discussed was the relationship between the Philippines and Kuwait after the latter implemented an entry ban on Filipinos.

This came after the Kuwaiti government accused the Philippines of violating the law, especially regarding the issue of shelters there.

According to Magsino, the Philippine government should have a strong stance on the bilateral agreement with Kuwait.

“We have a bilateral labor agreement but it has never been respected, it has never been implemented I would say. So, that is the very reason why we have to be more serious about it. The bilateral labor agreement should have teeth. Let’s not be a laughingstock in other countries. I mean, our agencies are doing the best that they can. Secretary Ople is doing the best and other leaders, but I hope this can be resolved as soon as possible,” ayon pa kay Magsino.

Meanwhile, Magsino also shared some of the bills she is pushing in Congress, such as the electronic voting bill to expand the voting methods for OFWs.

Magsino also emphasized promoting the arts and culture of Filipinos and House Bill 8560, which aims to provide protection to the children left behind by OFWs.
