DEEPFAKES depicting about 50 students from a private school in regional Victoria sparked condemnation and outrage from parents and local officials.
Police are investigating the graphic” nude images of the schoolgirls which appeared to have been created using artificial intelligence. The fake nude photos were created using the girls’ faces taken from social media sites and then circulated online.
The parent of one of the targeted schoolgirls from Bacchus Marsh Grammar student described the incident as sickening and disturbing, with her 16-year-old- daughter throwing up all the way home when she saw her “mutilated” photos online.
Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan condemned the disgraceful and misogynistic conduct and emphasized that girls deserve respect in class, online, and everywhere else in the community.
The teenage boy who spread the graphic photos has been temporarily released and will be summoned for further questioning.
