Partido Federal, Lakas-CMD forge alliance for 2025 midterm elections

THE Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) signed an alliance agreement on Wednesday morning, May 8 in Makati City.

The alliance, named ‘Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ which translates to ‘Alliance for a New Philippines’, aims to uplift the lives of Filipino citizens. President Bongbong Marcos served as the guest of honor at the signing ceremony, which was attended by around 300 members of PFP and Lakas-CMD.

Marcos expressed that he found encouragement in the significant support from the Filipino people during the 2022 presidential elections, which led to the formation of the ‘UniTeam’ with Vice President Sara Duterte.

The PFP, Lakas-CMD, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), and guest candidates from other parties formed the UniTeam Alliance in the 2022 national polls.

VP Sara garnered over 32 million votes in the 2022 elections, while Marcos won the presidential race with 31 million votes.

However, during prayer rallies, particularly in Dumaguete City, Atty. Glenn Chong reiterated the alleged cheating by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in collusion with Smartmatic to secure Marcos Jr.’s victory.

Chong claimed that the Marcos couple manipulated the results of the 2022 Presidential Election, and asserted that only VP Sara Duterte is the “rightful and legitimate leader” of the country, elected by 32 million Filipinos.

“Let us rise now. Let us reclaim our future from them because they have no right because they cheated in our election. And there is no other official elected by the people, but Sara Duterte,” according to Atty. Glenn Chong, Former Congressman of the Lone District of Biliran.
