PASTOR Apollo C. Quiboloy expressed his thanks for the immediate action taken by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) regarding complaints about offensive scenes shown on a noontime show on July 25.
On Monday, July 31, the producers of the noontime program “It’s Showtime” were immediately summoned by the MTRCB following numerous complaints from netizens who found the scene inappropriate, especially considering that many children watch the show.
In the show’s segment “Isip Bata,” the real-life partners were seen playfully teasing each other while demonstrating how to handle cake icing.
The MTRCB stated in their memorandum that the said scene violated “Section 3 of Presidential Decree No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.”
“Now, what kind of example is that for the youth? Right? Well, thanks to the MTRCB for recognizing it,” Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, The Kingdom of Jesus Christ said.
The good Pastor also blamed the influence of Western culture, particularly on social media, for the display of explicit scenes.
“But these behaviors, they’re like those of dogs. It stems from the degradation of the West. Here we are, observing what those Westerners are doing, and we imitate even their lewdness. Especially now with social media. A woman there undresses, and it’s like it’s no big deal to them. Everything is there, and then we mimic it,” Pastor Apollo added.
Indecent actions banned on SMNI—Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy
Pastor Apollo also emphasized that SMNI will never air such explicit scenes.
“At SMNI, oh no. Don’t do that. No, those indecent behaviors are not allowed here. We don’t permit that here. Our channel is family-oriented and for nation-building. One day, we will bring back the teaching of good manners and right conduct here.”
“That beautiful Filipino culture. Bowing to your elders, respecting your mother and father. We will restore that and the practice of helping elders, showing respect, and such. Those are just examples of good behavior, but these behaviors, they’re like those of dogs,” Pastor Apollo added.
It’s worth noting that on “It’s Showtime,” Vice Ganda also insulted and challenged Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy to end “Ang Probinsyano” and solve the traffic problem on EDSA, which later came true.
