PBBM recognizes science contribution to PH’s recovery from COVID-19 pandemic

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. believes that much can be done for a better change and a bright future through the integration of science and good governance.

On Friday afternoon, President Ferdinand R. Marcos addressed hundreds of scientists, researchers, and other experts at the Annual Scientific Conference and 90th General Membership Assembly of the National Research Council of the Philippines.

In his speech, President Marcos recognized the important contributions of science, particularly in the country’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“On behalf of the entire Filipino nation, we thank you. Because after all, it was science that helped us survive the pandemic. Science has brought us the cures we seek. Science developed the vaccine. Science made us understand, what we are facing, the invisible enemy of COVID. Science has provided the answers and it will continue to be science as we continue down the path of high technology,”  said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Republic of the Philippines.

Because of this, the President encouraged the delegations of the said event to continue to expand their ‘field of expertise’, collaborate with other experts and inspire young Filipinos to enter the career of science and technology.

Integration of science and good governance will lead to a better future –PBBM

President Marcos also believes that integrating science and good governance will lead to a good future.

He said, much can be done in the fields of agriculture, green energy, and the creation of affordable medicines through sciences and good governance.

“Imagine what we can do together once we light our way to the foundations of science: sustainable agricultural technology that will help our farmers; cities to run on green energy; safe and affordable drugs for diseases once thought incurable, among the many other breakthroughs we have seen from the scientific field,” said President Marcos.

The President added that the proper use of science and technology and evidence-based solutions will lead to effective action and policies.

“Many of our endeavors will depend on our willingness and resolve to use science and technology for national development. Let us, therefore, use them well,” he added.
