PHILIPPINE Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, spearheaded the donning and oath-taking ceremony of fifteen newly inducted members of PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) Executive Squadron at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila on 13 May 2025.
Said undertaking intensified the vision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on the increase of strength of PCGA members who will support the Philippine Coast Guard in its humanitarian initiatives and disaster relief operations.
During said ceremony, Undersecretary, Head of Department of Justice (DOJ) Law Enforcement and Prosecution Cluster, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Jesse Hermogenes Andress PCGA was inducted as Executive Squadron member.
The following appointees were also inducted as members of PCGA Executive Squadron, including:
- Auxiliary Rear Admiral Raul Vasquez PCGA – Undersecretary, for Legal Service and Liaison, Department of Justice
- Auxiliary Rear Admiral Eliseo Dc Cruz PCGA – Assistant Secretary, Department of Justice/Retired PN, Police Major General.
- Auxiliary Commodore Vanya Ysabel Maneja-Kharazmi PCGA – Director IV, Department of Justice.
- Auxiliary Commodore Elmer Nonnatus Cadano PCGA – Assistant General Manager for Finance, Legal and Administrative Services, PPA.
- Auxiliary Commodore Mark Jon Palomar PCGA – Assistant General Manager for Operations, PPA
- Auxiliary Commodore Kelvin Angeles PCGA – Senior Executive Assistant, PPA
Likewise, the following appointees were also inducted as members of PCGA Regular Squadron:
- Auxiliary Commander Benzar Bryan Balagtas PCGA – Assistant Director General, CAAP
- Auxiliary Commander Mark Nester Mendoza PCGA – Corporate Board Secretary VI, CAAP
- Auxiliary Commander John Beau Masiglat PCGA – Attorney V, PPA
- Auxiliary Commander Raymond Joseph Chan PCGA – Protocol Officer, CAAP
- Auxiliary Lieutenant Commander Jose Edison Torres PCGA – Project Research Specialist, CAAP
- Auxiliary Lieutenant Victoria Gorre PCGA – Department Manager, PPA
- Auxiliary Lieutenant Junior Grade Eunice Rean Samonte PCGA – Spokesperson, PPA and head of Corporate Communications
- Auxiliary Lieutenant Junior Grade Nerrisa Bernardo PCGA – Executive Assistant of Seaports Management, PPA.
“It is my honor and privilege to be part of the Philippine Coast Guard. From this day forward, I don the colors of the Philippine Coast Guard with loyalty to our country and pride as a Filipino citizen,’’ Auxiliary Rear Admiral Andress PCGA expressed during her speech.
For his part, Admiral Gavan PCG welcomed the new members of the PCGA, commending their pledge to support the coast guard in the effective fulfillment of its core mandates.
Also present during said undertaking were Deputy Commandant for Operations, Vice Admiral Edgar Ybañez PCG; Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Joeven Fabul PCG; Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG; and other PCG.
