PCG holds traditional New Year’s Call in Manila

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) held the traditional New Year’s Call, presided over by PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila on 14 January 2025.

Admiral Gavan PCG was joined by his spouse, Commodore Lysamyra Marie Gavan PCG, the Chief Nurse of the Philippine Coast Guard Nursing Service (CGNS).

PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, Rear Admiral Edgar Ybañez PCG, and PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG, also participated in warmly welcoming the officer corps, senior enlisted personnel, Coast Guard civilian employees, and the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) as part of the military customs.

“I appreciate all your hard work and sacrifices. I know that your job is difficult, but I assure you that the PCG leadership is doing its best to provide you with the necessary reinforcements and equipment to make our operations more efficient and effective. We hope that these changes will ease the burden on your shoulders,” Admiral Gavan expressed during the event.

Furthermore, Admiral Gavan emphasized that the PCG will aggressively recruit qualified personnel to strengthen the organization.

“We will continue acquiring new facilities, better vessels, advanced equipment, and gadgets to complement our efforts and keep in step with the modern challenges we face,” the PCG Commandant furthered.
