COAST Guard Working Dog (CGWD) Tarzan has confirmed the white crystalline substance, locally known as shabu, placed inside a coin pouch and hidden beneath a plant along the hallway of Ozamiz Port, Misamis Occidental, on 30 March 2024.
The K9 Team Misamis Occidental, Coast Guard Sea Marshal, and Coast Guard Sub-Station Ozamiz discovered the substance during a paneling inspection as part of Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2024.
The Coast Guard K9 Force said it weighed 1.5 grams with an estimated market value of Php 10,000.
CGWD Tarzan, a narcotics detection dog, showed a positive indication during the said operation. The PCG turned over the substance to the Ozamiz City Police Station for further investigation and proper disposition.
