IN November 2023, the employment rate reached 96.4%, indicating positive growth in the job market.
According to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), 1.83-M Filipinos gained employment compared to October.
“In terms of the number, it’s really significant month-on-month. Now, of course, we can see that this is not just for November, but really for the 4th quarter because of the holidays. We have many activities,” according to Usec. Dennis Mapa, National Statistician.
Sectors that experienced an increase in employment include agriculture and forestry, construction, transportation and storage, fishing and aquaculture, and administrative and support service activities.
Number of jobless Filipinos decreased by 257-K in Nov. 2023—PSA
The number of unemployed Filipinos decreased slightly in November, resulting in a 3.6% unemployment rate.
This is 257,000 lower compared to October.
“Our unemployment rate of 3.6 percent in November is the lowest since April 2005,” Mapa said.
