PHILIPPINE Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz spotted a bunch of ‘durian’ being sold in China.
“Happy to spot Philippine durian on sale in a major Beijing grocery chain. Local consumers love it,” said FlorCruz on Facebook.
China has agreed to start importing fresh Philippine durians, which mainly grow in the volcanic soil of Mount Apo on the southern island of Mindanao.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, Philippine durian exports to China were valued at US$1.88 million from January to June 2023.
