Remulla enumerates possible charges vs Teves

JUSTICE Secretary ‘Boying’ Remulla enumerates the possible charges that embattled lawmaker Arnie Teves could be facing due to his involvement in the Degamo Slay case.

“First of all, on your first question… I honestly feel like it’s comedy. That’s the reply of suspended Congressman Arnie Teves to Justice Secretary Boying Remulla,” said Cong. Arnie Teves, suspect in Degamo Slay case.

According to the secretary, the Anti-Terrorism Law covers the activities that led to the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo of which Teves is said to be the mastermind.

With that, the Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to designate Teves as a terrorist under the Anti-Terrorism Council.

“It’s already becoming… It’s already becoming a circus,” added Teves.

“Right? How can you be a terrorist if you haven’t even been charged? Then you will become a mastermind. In the first place, if they don’t have… nothing. There’s nothing. Why did pointing fingers come first especially towards me? They didn’t make an investigation first. Think about it, right away, there’s already a mastermind?” said Teves.

But in his last message, Secretary Remulla has a new challenge for Teves.

First, it is not funny that there are people who died in the issue.

And the government only protects the welfare of the people against those who want to disturb and destroy life.

“There is nothing funny about 9 people getting killed. The people are/were terrorized and are/were living in fear as long as he is not in legal custody. We are guarding against that capability to wreak havoc and destruction to people’s lives,” said Sec. Boying Remulla, Department of Justice.

Remulla also emphasized that there is nothing funny about Governor Degamo’s death.

Especially since he was murdered in his home while on duty.

“That is not funny at all, considering that the highest-ranked local official was killed in his own home while serving his constituents, by highly trained gunmen recruited for that purpose. Was what happened to Gov. Degamo funny in any way?” added Remulla.

With that, Remulla lists the possible charges that Teves may face.

This includes multiple murder, multiple frustrated murder, and multiple attempted murder.

Also, the case of illegal firearms and explosives can be filed against the suspended congressman.

“Multiple murder, multiple frustrated murder, multiple attempted murder are among the cases, besides the illegal firearms and explosives,” said Remulla.

“You know what pains me is that fingers immediately pointed towards me. We must first investigate before judging. What happened now, they first made judgment before investigating,” said Teves.
