Russia fighting for its very existence—Pres. Putin

PRESIDENT Vladimir Putin claimed that the ongoing conflict with Ukraine is not about achieving some geopolitical gains and that this conflict with Kyiv, and the West, is a fight for the very existence of Russia.

While meeting with the aviation factory workers in Ulan-Ude, Pres. Vladimir Putin stated that, quote,  for our Western so-called ‘partners’ – for, actually, our adversaries, we can say that openly today – the matter is about improving their geopolitical stance,

“For us, this is not a struggle for some geopolitical stance, but a struggle for the very existence of Russian statehood,” Pres. Putin added.

Putin claims ‘enemies’ have long wanted to tear Russia apart

Putin also said that the destabilization and tearing apart of Russia have long been among the top goals of Russia’s enemies and urged everyone to show unity in the face of hardships.

He also concluded that Russia has been patiently trying for decades to mend relations with the modern Ukrainian state, however, the situation changed when the 2014 coup in Kyiv happened.
