A report filed by New York based human rights watch accused Saudi border guards of killing hundreds of Ethiopian migrants trying to cross the Saudi-Yemen border between March 2022 and June 2023.
The organization also called out the oil-rich Kingdom to stop using lethal force on migrants and asylum seekers and even demanded for a un-backed investigation.
An estimated 750,000 Ethiopians live and work in Saudi Arabia, according to the rights group.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia condemned the false allegations made by some organizations about the Kingdom and for promoting reports that are misleading and politicized.
An official Saudi source familiar with the matter described the allegations as ‘unfounded and based on unreliable sources’.
According to the source, Saudi Arabia had instead provided the necessary medical care to groups of people who sustained gunshot wounds from armed groups who have forced them to enter the Kingdom.
The source added that Saudi has provided humanitarian services to those caught violating border security and treated them in line with international human rights obligations.
