SAUDI Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud reaffirmed the kingdom’s support in achieving peace and resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia in a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy discussed with the Crown Prince Ukraine’s Peace Formula, the return of Ukrainian prisoners and deported people from Russia, as well as Saudi Arabia’s potential involvement in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction efforts.
The ten-point Peace Formula seeks the full withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, among other things.
Saudi Arabia maintains close ties with both Kyiv and Moscow.
The oil-rich kingdom played an important role in facilitating the exchange of prisoners in September 2022, which freed nearly 300 captive Ukrainians.
Zelenskyy, in turn, praised Saudi Arabia for its efforts.
