SMNI plays an important role for nation-building—Legacy Awards Council

BECAUSE of its contribution to the Philippines’ development, SMNI is once again recognized in the recently concluded Legacy Awards in Okada Manila.

Media is the most powerful and efficient way of nation-building and for the development of any country.

This is why the Legacy Awards Council lauded SMNI for playing an important role in the Philippines by providing information and news, of what the government has been doing.

Legacy Awards Council Chairman Wilfred Lemque Jr. also said that SMNI has been vocal and has been a watchdog to hold those in power accountable.

“Benchmark ang SMNI. Number 1 you are one of the media entities that have been very visible in giving and showing what the government is doing,” Wilfredo Lemque Jr., Chairman, Legacy Awards Council said.

“It is important that the people sees what’s happening. I’ve travelled abroad, and I’ve seen how countries develop themselves. I’ve been observing the actions of the government and also their faults. SMNI is doing the same thing. Very transparent and its very important to show what the government is doing and where are we as Filipino and what is Philippines now to show it to the world.”

SMNI is not all about praising [the government]. I can see that SMNI is vocal if there are any concernsm,” Lemque added.

SMNI receives recognition at prestigious legacy awards

Because of this, the award council has chosen SMNI as one of the recipients of the prestigious legacy awards for business in the category of media excellence for promoting peace, unity, and nation-building through ethical journalism and community engagement.

The council thanked Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy for spearheading and for making SMNI a voice for truth that matters and a vehicle for nation-building.
