NAKUMPISKA ng Bureau of Custom (BOC) ang nasa 667 karton ng smuggled chainsaws na naglalaman ng 1,034 units.
Ito ay matapos ang isinagawang physical examination noong Enero 13 sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) Designated Examination Area (DEA).
Ayon sa BOC, ang shipment ng 1×40 container ay mula China at naka-consigned sa JJJ Enterprises.
Natuklasan na walang importation permit mula sa Forest Management Bureau-Department of Environment and Natural Resources (FMB-DENR) ang shipment na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P1 milyon.
Nag-isyu naman ng warrant of seizure and detention laban sa kargamento dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1113 “Property Subject to Seizure and Forfeiture” na may kaugnayan sa Section 1401 “Unlawful Importation and Exportation” sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act at sa DENR Administrative Order No. 2003-24 “Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A No. 9175 (Chainsaw Act of 2002)”.
