IN the beginning of the administration, we (Department of Tourism) made the effort to listen to our local cruise stakeholders in the Philippines, and through that exercise, we learned of the challenges faced by the industry, one of which includes accessibility into the country through visas.
That is why, working very closely with the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Immigration, we have since launched the Cruise Visa Waiver Program.
This is a collaborative effort that aims to simplify travel for cruise tourists, encouraging more international cruise lines to make the Philippines a prominent stop in their itineraries without the inconvenience of a difficult visa application.
