NATIONWIDE operations against illegal firearms led to the confiscation of 911 unauthorized firearms, 44,540 assorted rounds of ammunition, 6,239 methamphetamine tablets and two explosives.
As of July this year, Thai officers have sought out 1,658 targets across the country, netting nearly one thousand suspects.

The risky raid which started on the 1st of July resulted in the exchange of gunfire and the death of the prime suspect.
Thailand, a country of more than 70 million people has more than 6 million registered guns and according to the World Population Review, the civilian gun ownership rate in the country is at 15.10 per 100 persons, which is the highest in ASEAN and the second highest in Asia.
The nationwide operation focusing on illegal firearms will run until July 30 led by the Thai police and related agencies.
