Third batch of Filipino repatriates from Gaza arrives safely in Philippines

THE Philippine government assisted four families, totaling 20 individuals, in evacuating from Gaza.

One of them is Revelina, a member of a family of six, including her Palestinian husband, who received assistance from the Philippine government to return home.

Revelina moved from Abu Dhabi to Gaza and lived there for 11 years.

Due to the intense turmoil in the region, they decided to return to the Philippines with their family.

Revelina thanked the Philippine government’s assistance in bringing them back to the country.

However, they find themselves without a place to stay in the Philippines.

Revelina, originally from La Union, said that she no longer has relatives she can stay with because each family member now has their own family.

According to Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Robert Ferrer, the Philippine government will work to provide shelter for the family.

The agency will also coordinate with the Local Government Units to provide assistance.

That’s the latest on the ongoing repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) trapped in the conflict in Israel.

Meanwhile, the DFA said another batch of Filipino repatriates is expected to arrive on Wednesday.
