TROPICAL DEPRESSION “AMANG” CONTINUES TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OVER LAMON BAY TOWARDS POLILLO ISLANDS
Location of Center (4:00 AM):
The center of Tropical Depression “AMANG” was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Jomalig, Quezon (14.5°N, 122.3°E)
Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1006 hPa
Present Movement:
West northwestward at 10 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong winds extend outwards up to 100 km from the center

The northern and western portions of Camarines Norte (Santa Elena, Capalonga, Paracale, Jose Panganiban, Vinzons), the southern portion of Aurora (Dingalan, San Luis) and the northern and eastern portions of Quezon (Calauag, Infanta, Plaridel, Quezon, Alabat, Sampaloc, Mauban, General Nakar, Perez, Gumaca, Atimonan, Real, Lopez) including Pollilo Islands

Heavy Rainfall Outlook
Forecast accumulated rainfall for the next 24 hours (from this early morning to tomorrow early morning)
- Up to 25 mm in most areas of Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and CALABARZON, reaching 50 mm in a few locations (mostly in Central Luzon and northern Quezon) caused by scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms
Under these conditions, isolated flashfloods and rain-induced landslides remains possible, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps and in localities that experienced considerable amounts of rainfall for the past several days.
Severe Winds
Areas under Wind Signal No. 1 may experience strong winds (strong breeze to near gale strength) associated with the tropical depression which may cause minimal to minor impacts to life and property. However, winds are likely to weaken over the next several hours.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
In the next 24 hours, moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.0 m) may be experienced over the western seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon. Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
Tropical Depression “AMANG” is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area within 12 hours as it moves towards Polillo Islands and northern mainland Quezon.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials.
