RETIRED U.S. Police Chief Alan Hostetter has been sentenced to over 11 years in prison for his role in the January 6, 2021 riot on U.S. Capitol Hill.
A Washington court passed the sentence on Hostetter based on his July conviction on charges including conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, as well as entering a restricted building with a deadly or dangerous weapon.
Hostetter, 59 years old, was believed to be a trump supporter. He also chose to represent himself at the trial.
Reports say that all through it, Hostetter firmly believes that President Biden had stolen the election from former President Donald Trump.
The court handed him 135 months of jail time.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, more than 1,230 of the hundreds that rallied at Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, have been charged for crimes related to the riot.

720 of the 1,230 individuals have been convicted.
Of this number, more than 720 have been convicted, and of these 720 people, more than 450 will serve jail time.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who has already been indicted in Georgia, will also go on trial in Washington on March 4, 2024 on charges of conspiring to overturn the November 2020 election results.
