UAE sends trucks of winter aid to Gaza

TEN trucks that contain 1.6 million items of winter clothing and blankets arrived at the Rafah crossing for Gaza residents.

The UAE distributed the supplies as temperatures in the war-torn enclave plunged to eight degrees Celsius.

Emirates Red Crescent, the humanitarian arm of the UAE government, supervised the distribution of aid.

The agency assigned representatives from 175 locations across the UAE to collect donations such as winter clothing, heating devices, medical packages, food packages, and firewood, among others.

The additional supplies form part of the country’s ‘Be their Warmth’ campaign and Operation Gallant Knight 3.

The UAE also. provided more desalination plants on the Egyptian side of the border with Gaza to pump 600,000 gallons of clean water every day which will cover the needs of about 300,000 people.

Moreover, the wealthy Gulf nation also pledged to provide treatment for 1,000 injured Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients since November.
