THE Red Sea was a scene of brewing tensions after Iran-backed Houthis traded strikes with security forces from the United States and the United Kingdom.
More than 60 Houthi targets from 28 locations were struck by the US and the UK military on Friday.
The two allies launched a follow-up action on Saturday by targeting a Houthi radar site using a navy destroyer equipped with Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM).
Houthi officials slammed the attack and vowed revenge while American and British troops said they are prepared for retaliatory attacks.
A US-led multinational force known as the operation prosperity guardian was established in December as a response to the Houthi-led attacks in the Red Sea.
The escalating tensions in the Red Sea forced cargo vessels to find alternative routes causing shipping costs to soar and delay in delivery of goods.
