VICE President Sara Duterte warmly welcomes the opportunity to discuss the legality of transferring P125 million in confidential funds to her office.
This comes in response to a petition filed with the Supreme Court, seeking to declare the transfer of these funds to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) as ‘unconstitutional’ and requesting the return of the funds to the government’s coffers.
“We wholeheartedly accept the chance to address the legality of this fund transfer. We hope that the wisdom of the Supreme Court will pave the way for the resolution of this matter,” according to Vice President Sara Duterte, Republic of the Philippines.
Vice President Duterte also emphasized the need to focus on the responsibility of raising the standard and quality of education in the country, alongside the protection of students and teachers.
“Now, we will concentrate on the challenging task of improving the level and quality of education in our nation, while ensuring the protection of our students and Department of Education staff from all types of threats and abuses,” VP Duterte added.
Duterte also stressed the importance of addressing issues affecting students and their families, amid the rising prices of goods.
“It is equally crucial for us to pay attention to addressing critical issues concerning the prices of goods, which impact our students and their families,” she said.
