VICE President Sara Duterte expresses her heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the bombing at Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City last Sunday.
Alongside this, she strongly condemned incident, emphasizing the audacity and recklessness behind such an act.
“Together with our strong condemnation of the recent explosion and of the individuals or groups behind it, the casualties and the wounded are civilians. It is alarming that this happened within the MSU compound, inside a Catholic church — in a region with a long and bloody history of terrorism,” Vice President Sara Duterte, Republic of the Philippines stated.
Vice President Duterte adds that the bombing is a bold and audacious act of recklessness.

“I appeal to all Filipinos, especially Mindanaoans, to remain calm while the authorities conduct their investigation. Nevertheless, we also need to be cautious and vigilant to prevent possible future attacks on civilians,” VP Duterte added.
Vice President Duterte recalls the 2016 bombing at Roxas Night Market in Davao City, where civilians also lost their lives, stating that she understands the fear and pain brought about by such heinous acts.
“We must be strong in the face of challenges and the ongoing threat of terrorism. Let us not allow evil to triumph against a nation united for peace,” she stated.
