VP Sara participates in DOTr’s 125th anniversary and ceremonial signing for Davao Transport Modernization

IN conjunction with the 125th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Vice President Sara Duterte, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Amenah F. Pangandaman were witnessed to the Ceremonial Signing of the Civil Works Contracts for the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project in Lanang, Davao City last Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

DPTMP is a bus-based public transport system that aims to make mobility and accessibility secure in Davao City, in accordance with the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) of the government.

By 2026, the DPTMP will have more than 400 18-metre articulated battery buses and more than 700 Euro5-standard diesel buses to deliver 29 interconnected routes covering a total length of 672 km.

The said project is just one of the many successful initiatives of DOTr in the past 125 years where the Department is focused on providing convenient, safe, reliable, and affordable transportation to Filipino commuters.

The vice president was glad that she could finally realize what she had been minimizing because this is one of the projects that she started working on when she was Mayor of Davao City.

The Davao Public Transport Modernization Project will be implemented under the Build Better More Infrastructure Program of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
