PORMAL nang umarangkada ang Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet 2023 sa Aklan na ginanap sa Sports Complex sa Brgy. Calangcang, Makato ng lalawigan.
Nasa kabuoang 4,895 ng mga delegasyon ang nakilahok sa WVRAA Meet mula sa lalawigan ng Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, at Negros Occidental na opisyal na binuksan nitong Abril 26.
Dumalo sa selebrasyon sina Aklan Governor Jose Enrique ‘Joen’ Miraflores, Vice Governor Atty. Reynaldo ‘Boy’ Quimpo, 1st District Congressman Carlito Marquez, sangguniang panlalawigan members, municipal officials, at mga DepEd officials sa pamumuno ni Regional Director Dr. Ramir B. Uytico, CESO III.
“We are happy to received, we are happy that the WVRAA 2023 is held here. My congratulations also to my team, the Provincial Government of Aklan. Can we give them a round of applause? Day and night, they are working tirelessly to our venues, to our building areas for us to prepare everything. That we can give the best for the celebration of WVRAA here in the Province of Aklan. And this is timely for our celebration of the 67th Foundation Day of the Province of Aklan. That we are giving priority to our children, our youth, to give ample support especially to our sports development program here in the province of Aklan,” saad ni Aklan Governor Jose Enrique ‘Joen’ Miraflores.
Dumalo rin sa pagbukas ng WVRAA Meet 2023 ang mga local chief executives sa buong probinsiya sa 6 na rehiyon na kinabibilangan nina Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao, Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Lacson, at Provincial Administrator Emmanuel Galila bilang kinatawan ni Guimaras Governor JC Rahman Nava.
Magpapatuloy ang paligsahan sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Aklan hanggang sa katapusan ng buwan ng Abril.
